The first pair of Helios Komfort shoes was made in June 1996 as a result of a partnership between two ambitious young men. Today, their adult children work in the company, supporting its further development. It's no coincidence that the company was founded in the city of Łuków – it is a city with a centuries-old tradition in shoemaking. As early as the 16th century, a shoemakers' guild was established and flourished here, and in the second half of the 20th century, one of the largest footwear factories in Poland operated here. The city's shoemaking traditions translate into the availability of skilled professionals employed by the company.
